Gordon Lightfoot Beautiful

Vodka tonic everywhere and not a drop to drink
fancy bottles on the wall and garbage in the sink
party atmosphere about and swaying on the floor
fresh air would be fine awhile let's go outside the door
look up at the stars blinking warm breath a misty cloud
music in the background the bass part bouncing through
vibrating the windows a bit and heading towards town 
waking one above the storefront looking down alarmed
just another night of fun postponed for many too 
rock and roll and elderly dining cautious food
time to reevaluate I have something to say
