Photos About Us

Here's something I just put together with a few recent pics that illustrates our life together. Nonie and me.  We met back before the Covid time period and dated for about six months back when we both lived near the coast. Nonie was still working then as a welder. She welded on submarines. She also had her jewelry business. She makes lovely jewelry but no longer welds things together. She is very handy around the house, however.

We moved out to the mountanous area of Virginia near the Blue Ridge after living awhile in my tiny house. I kept it for a year and a half so we were going back and forth four hours each way a couple of times per month.

Recently there was a lunar eclipse and this is a photo from that event.

We have friends now beyond our backyard.  They are very friendly.  The donkey complains sometimes but he's really just expressing himself more clearly.

We are working class people.  I feel very fortunate to have found a nice place during the chaos of the early 2020's.  I sit in my kickback chair every morning and thank God for my wonderful wife and the life we have out here. I can see the sun come up through the driveway. The fresh air is great. I can write and listen to music.

This is our backyard. There is a beautiful pecan tree to the left that I wrote a poem about recently. Our neighbor grew up one town over from me in Massachusetts.  Small world!

Nonie, the fabulous, and me, the fortunate.

I am trying to do several things with this blog. I am trying to bring different parts of it together in a meaningful and appreciative way. Not the "forget the past" attitude. Did I fail at times?  For sure. But it is important, I think, to remember accomplishments and things I learned.  Writing poetry is a very inexpensive way to improve health and allow peace of mind.  It also helps in regards to the constant battle with RLS.
