St. Denis

Please pardon me I saw a tree

the one in our back yard

but it was inside my head

leaves at attention, shards.

Disembodied from the boughs

pointed towards the sky

diamonds or then holly leaves

no pecans lay nearby.

I do apologize for this

it was the medication

why I even bring it up

is hardly worth a mention.

And yet I do it anyway

with robots on the way

I hear them stamping

step by step

they quarantine my days.

It was early morning

the sun was not quite up

still it lit the scene a bit

and did not interrupt.

I was meditating

back inside the cave

when the tree appeared to me

and all my blood cells waved.

I'm sorry there I go again

algorithm alarm!

put a bag over my head

this may restore some calm.

Saint Denis had his head chopped off

he carried it around

his sculpture is in Richmond

I have to say it now.

I had a vision of a tree

saints upon the wall

planted it

inside my head

amazing place
that's all.
