I lost my coin not long ago

a small one made of gold

bought it back in 83

was over 40 years old.

May showers here and want to stay

make the grass flash out

fill in spaces bare dirt places

make a lawn somehow.

Mowed it this past weekend

thick weeds grown real high

looks some better still a leper

with a haircut

fine.

Rambling in the rain today

a brief run in the park

just a day of class

free time

forget what it's about...

Going To The Grocery Store

 

I write am wrong then write again

walking involves stumbles

talking leads to happy song

or just a lot more trouble.

It's better not to think at all

but thoughtless is a tool

righteous often seems a play

but could turn very cruel.

Each day begins much like the last

with sun and bright bird songs 

Oh yes they sing as well do wives

who often hum along.

into my head

thru earth and sea

we tunneled deep

finding secret lands

crystal shops on mountain tops

reptilian spies albino hide

rabbits Alice then . .

Remembering my bedroom window

big tooth smiled I'm three

no idea what happened next

erased my memory.

But next birth recommissioned

to fly skies anywhere

park at night in ocean depths

globes bright and warm

sleep with a piece nearby

then shoot to icy city 

dinner sumptuous feast

big tooth working maitre d

eyes wide now dead meat.

April is a good month 

for little dawns and tea

mornings birthing

sun and moon

afternoons busy.

Why do they wonder where we go

when all of this arrives?

for 20 bucks no thanks

enjoy his movies very much

but he's not Superman.

Watched as Chris flew out first time

a couple tears leaked out

I know he's up there

flying  

with Dana now as well.

The arctic visit over now

60 plus it was

it rained from gutters

to the ground

yard just birthed a pond. 

And he started hearing

the sun was acting weird

going up in different

places

somewhere south of here. 

Now I am not a scientists

but think the earth reborn

a little wobble back and forth 

and here it is so warm. 

Let me go to sleep Dear Lord

and find a little rest

before I wobble off the earth

towards your establishment.

while I'm out here working
building something
holes and inches
boring counting
floating

No one's supervising
backyard still undone
let me sit and brush
the grass 

grab some tufts for fun. 

Waste time for a longer while
toss aside the hammer
feel the sun upon my face
caress some leaves

feel better. 

Let me kiss the ground a bit
when no one is looking
like survivors everywhere
from outrageous journeys. 

Oh the sun is going down
and there is work to do
let me sway upon the earth
and dance again for You.

RLS And Blessings

Blessings arrive in strange places.  I have been dealing with RLS, or restless legs as it is known to many, for 25 years. I never thought of it as being anything other than a curse, a daily torment not worth mentioning because it was not recognized by the public as being too much of a problem.  It wasn't cancer or heart disease.  It wouldn't kill you!  Oh, so true.  Unless, of course, you couldn't stand the constant torment and decided to jump out a window.  

So how did I get to the point where I thought of it in positive terms.  Well, right now it's not too much of a problem.  But that's another story.  The fact is that after 25 years when I am actually able to sit and relax or possibly even doze off I thank the Creator.  I appreciate stillness and use it to meditate or pray.  It is a sanctuary of sorts.   Perhaps a bit run down at this stage but very much appreciated.  A gift.  Blessings come in all different sizes.  The small ones are sometimes of great value.   

So that's what I wanted to say this Saturday morning.  I want to talk about RLS here from time to time.  I would hope to offer some help to others who are having a bad time with it.  I will label the RLS parts of this blog in the sidebar.  Thanks for the read.  Have a good weekend.
