Now in elder days I know
the presence of another
Home.
Other old men kitchen tabled
children gone and wives
just a chair faut silverware
meds at dinner time.
No job for him the workplace done
his dog the only precious one
phone call once a month or so
I pray for him I am not one.
I think of those in flooded places
and those tripped up by storms
man made nature doesn't matter
in tents or cars alone.
I was alone lived in a car
but prayed and days went by
not for something else
was waiting
I was with God inside.
I loved the One was always there
and now a wife as well
my son and family
down the road
somehow were added
Bells and a great sale.
Perhaps it is not paradise
but I see the signs
and pray for those who are out here
to feel what grows inside.
One day soon this goes away
I'll see the rest who've gone
as well as old man tabled now
and all those who have drowned.
See inside them just this One
was with me in the car
this is the way it goes out here
and everywhere
We are.
