Going To The Grocery Store

I write am wrong then write again

walking involves stumbles

talking leads to happy song

or just a lot more trouble.

It's better not to think at all

but thoughtless is a tool

righteous often seems a play

but could turn very cruel.

When I tried to write today

a song was sung somewhere

it could be quantum physics

or my tower needs repair.

Rising  up each morning

surprised to be alive

all the deep dark holes

out here

but bridges too and sky.

Millions call out "Father!"

"Mother" says a prayer

while others gather in the wings

and watch us all down here.

I see them help the grocery line

standing with no chair

asking everyone checks out

"How are you doing dear?"

They let me take the Peter Pan

my peanuts out the store

already creamy butter

Wendy holds the door.

I barely make it to the car

my back is killing me

but then for just a moment

I was with royalty.

I write am wrong and try again

until I see the truth

all about us everywhere

are stars who touch our food.

Thank you for the morning

and  stars come out at night

when everyone who stands

all day sleeps with a star

night light.

Supporting all their families!

We're talking billions now

keeping all the rest of us

afloat while legs are bowed.

It's time to rest be quiet

we're going to the store

we'll visit Queen Elizabeth

watch the birds

buy s'mores.

I hear a voice "Oh shut it up

go get back in your cage!"

but the weather's perfect now

my angel drives both ways.

But that's another story

fools know more than one

Yeats wrote Aengus wandering

I thought yes!  Can be done!

"And walk among long dappled grass,

And pluck till time and times are done,

The silver apples of the moon,

The golden apples of the sun."

They had a room was cool today

too cold and apples too

you take them to the register

and then she smiles at you.

Then the fish was better

you picked it out with care

Wendy wandered over

Tink was around somewhere.

I dream of Aengus wandering

and dial the moon at night

yesterday a college room

poems too

and previews of my life.

The Song of Wandering Aengus

Waiting To Reappear

I had a state park pass that was stolen, appaently, off the mirror in my van.  It was a LIFE pass, good for geisers, who do not have enough...
