Turtle Born

Elder folks do travel
like turtles being born
head out to the water
hoping to stay untorn.

Not eaten by the seagulls
delicious taco food
turtles go religiously
using waggle moves.

To the deep, cool waters
sky way up above
avoiding the Alzheimers
go back to school! In love!

Relatives are wondering
the way they dart around
don't realize they're ready
Excited! Come on down!

Old folks know what's happening
they've done it all before
many times popped from the earth
and blip! Back through the door!

Swimming to the infinite
reefs and coral spires
shielded now
house on their backs

so colorful, on fire!

When you see them
in the night, flashlights
everywhere.

Wandering a bit
perhaps, don't startle
their affairs,

run along beside them
let them get there first
hear and feel the gentle tide
they time it all! Rebirth!
