Her Child

Her beauty was quite soothing

and kindness lit her smile

patience was a landscape

grew our lives awhile.

And then the changing weather

nothing stays the same

forever a misguided word

map error exit lane.

Perhaps she was a favorite dawn

day with air so clean

cool, swift breeze and bathing

best sunset ever seen.

Why did I seek her mainly

try to preserve and serve?

Whatever would you have me do

she gave me shape and birth!

Arriving at a different place

than I thought I would

as if to say I know the way

imagining I could.

When she left I was appalled

dancing with a rope

but then I thought what am I not?

and that would be too slow.

I am the riot in the sky

a moist and cloudy day

my lightning kicks the whole thing off

I am surprise, I play.

Let me drive around awhile

off the grid of same

watch the happy steeples

pointing out the way.

There should be adventure

for a wondrous while

as I recline the kickback chair

this cramped up rocket style.

Countdown in the cockpit

now eight billion cries

and the world just comes apart

a perfect way to fly.

Look upon her beauty

both blue and very wild

just a kiss exploding mist

and whispers too

"my child".

Waiting To Reappear

I had a state park pass that was stolen, appaently, off the mirror in my van.  It was a LIFE pass, good for geisers, who do not have enough...
