Don't Go!

The vines drove up the house one day

and started climbing shingles

got in between the vinyl cuts

and had a happy wiggle.

He noticed them they waved "hello"

around the window screen

and penetrated readily

his home and long daydream.

Then the flowers followed

dropped down from the roof

through the attic

ceiling

saw molding and regrouped.

Still, he was enamoured

with his smart tv

while grasses poked

old ottoman

and climbed on top to see.

Cracks in the foundation

creaks in wooden bones

echoes in the rafters

skylight can't find home.

When the 911 arrives

his house is lit with troops

fire ants and alligators

pythons and bat poop.

He gets up off the canvass

calls his insurance man

runs up all the numbers

and says "I really need a tan".

Heads out for a beach weekend

lay out watch the sharks

listen to the radio

his state declared a park.

Rents a little sailboat

heads up the silent coast

everybody has a dream

old Orca says "hello".

Waiting To Reappear

I had a state park pass that was stolen, appaently, off the mirror in my van.  It was a LIFE pass, good for geisers, who do not have enough...
