A Story About Now

I really don't know much about anything at all so take all of this for what it may or may not be worth.  It could easily be nothing at all.  And it definitely will be a ramble that will drive near the edge of an ocean road ( a reference to my most recent poem that was not on point because I was going to write about one thing and in the middle of it decided to write about something else).  I sometimes do not write for an audience but for one or two folks who might benefit from a single line.  I'm not really trying to build anything here.  It's just nice to have the opportunity to express whatever feels right to write about.

Somewhere between ten and twenty percent of the population have difficulties with restless legs to a lesser or greater degree.  After about 25 years I have discovered a good way of dealing with it.  Writing poems!  But I don't have the mental equipment to do that all the time.  So another option is to play chess online. Lichess.org is free and works really well.  And then there are the tuning forks and headphones. Put those together and they provide great relief in a short period of time.  I don't have to think too much and away we go.  I just battled Stockfish level 4 to a draw.  Hey!  It beats drinking vodka with pain meds!  And many other things.  It's a small victory  but one I think deserves to be shared and perhaps one that will help someone else.  Pass it on as they say.

I have also noticed that something is going on with the royal family in Great Britain.  A lot of it may be AI fantasy.  It's hard to sort that out.  But some of it may be real.  Let me say that I was a big fan of Diana and her children.  William and his family are wonderful in my book.  If they are to be, in the near future, the new face of England and a reflection and reminder of Diana it is heartening.

It feels to me like major things are happening lately, whether on a personal level in my life or from a global perspective! But there are still awful things happening.  The earthquake earlier this week was horrible.  The hospital in Cali, Columbia buried patients alive.  They are still trying to dig them out. All of that is still happening and there is talk of weather warfare and weapons that can make the ground shake too.

I could just shut up about all of this.  Maybe this is not the place.  Is it a story?  It is in a way. I don't know if all my conclusions are true.  I could be weaving story out of random events.  Because I think there is a plan behind much of what occurs.  I believe God is here in our lives on a very personal basis as well as in the huge struggles that will become human history as we go on. I believe my daily struggles, defeats, and small triumphs are based on the fact that we all have souls and are under the guidance and protection of the Creator of the universe.  I have written many poems that suggest this in the last four years.

I am thankful beyond measure for the hints of things reported by the fragmented medias of the world that suggest we are going someplace better.  And I have been listening to some of the music that is here for us always to share. Maybe someone else will enjoy it this evening.  Great sounds, music, prayer disguised as art and entertainment. This is one of the best.
