Three Men

 

He fed his boy some apple sauce

his happy little boy

a hefty baby really

six foot four these days

back then he liked his apple sauce

and dad said "well, okay". 

So he fed him quickly

shoveled it right in

boy ate the jar of apple sauce

some may have splashed on him. 

Someone took a photo

that's the part was wrong

and so we have some evidence

when questioning someone. 

No one ever took a pic

of dad going to work

or doing lots of other things

while feeling sick or hurt.  

Maybe once in 40 years

just for kicks but then

better just to fixate on

old food fun adventures. 

Parents are just people

like the ones they raise

this one joined the Coast Guard

eats off floors that wave. 

  

I have two sons

they both are swell

handsome, strong, good men

I don't know how they made it

but I know they did 

and it's time to let it go

they raised me well

they did.
